MICHAEL BEARDEN GOES BACK TO SCHOOL WITH EDUCATION THROUGH MUSIC – LOS ANGELES

Holding a classroom of twelve-year-olds in rapt attention on a sunny Friday may seem like a tall order for some, but when you’re an entertainer who has worked with and directed the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson’s final triumph, This is It, it’s apparently a piece of cake.
“How long do you practice?” “How does it feel to work with famous people?” and “Have you ever seen Eminem smile?” were all questions fielded by ASCAP member Michael Bearden, Musical Director of Lopez Tonight, when he dropped in on the 5th-8th grade classrooms at West L.A.’s St. Sebastian School. Bearden, who’s worked in studio and on tour with countless legendary names in the music industry, chatted, played, and challenged students to “find what you love – photography, basketball, music – whatever it is, practice, practice, and then practice more.”
